When it comes to food, some myths die hard. So, it's good to revisit some completely outdated recommendations, such as eggs or nuts. Here are five foods, quite healthy, that still have a bad reputation.

Do you think that you should not eat more than two eggs a week or that coffee is bad for your health? Think again! If in the past, certain foods were judged harshly, this is no longer the case today. Here are five in particular, which are rather healthy, despite the negative criticism they may have received.

The eggs

Eggs are the perfect example of a food that was once demonized. The recommendations were strict, due to the high cholesterol content of eggs. Now, various studies have shown that eating more eggs does not increase cardiovascular risk. The latest experiment on the subject was conducted by a medical student, who ate more than 700 eggs in one month, without any impact on his cholesterol level . Now, it is possible to eat one to two eggs per day, without any problem.

Nuts

Nuts are also a food that has been accused of being too rich. What you need to know about nuts is that they are rich in good fats. They contain unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which have heart-protective effects. In 2017, a study published in the European Journal of Nutrition also debunked the idea that nuts would make you gain weight.

The coffee

Coffee has always been a controversial drink. In the past, it was associated with certain intestinal problems, migraines and an increased cardiovascular risk. Now, coffee is seen in a more positive light. In 2017, in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine, a study changed this perception. In fact, the work shows that drinking three cups of coffee a day is not harmful. Better: those who drink one cup a day have a lower risk of mortality.

Pork meat

Pork is known for its high content of poor-quality fats. But, with the exception of its fat, pork is a meat that contains more protein and less fat than chicken or turkey.

Seafood

You may have heard the idea that seafood is high in cholesterol and that the uric acid it contains can cause gout? This is not entirely true. In fact, seafood is recommended by nutrition experts because it is a low-calorie, high-protein food.
