The autumn colours delight us, Sophrology ,the end of the year celebrations are approaching... and let’s face it fatigue is felt.
How does sophrology work?
Sophrology is an approach to personal development.
What's his purpose? (Re)find balance, feel good about yourself. She is inspired by meditation techniques, yoga and works on body awareness, sensations and emotions.
In individual or group sessions, from the age of 6 or 7 (the age when you really become aware of your body), you will try to refocus, let go, to anchor yourself in the present.
~Noémie’s enthusiasm for her job is evident: “It’s super gratifying. We can see the progress of people, that they feel better from session to session... Bringing well-being is magic!” For her, the “Sophrology” is a boost when you encounter a decrease in energy, when you lose your morale: “When you are good in your pumps, in your body, life is more beautiful!

Dynamic sophrology, one of the 2 branches of sophrology
Depending on your needs, the sophrologist guides the exercises to relax you, stimulate you or help you release pressure . Relaxation exercises - or relaxation sophrology - are generally carried out lying down or sitting. As for dynamic relaxation
exercises aimed at releasing pressure or being stimulated, they are usually carried out sitting or standing. You see us coming: when the objective is to stimulate the person, we talk about dynamic sophrology . What do we mean by “stimulation”? Dynamic sophrology is based on fun techniques, focused on gestures, breathing, visualization of areas of the body . For the sophrologist, with this personal work: “ Action calls for action. We will wake up the muscles, get the body moving.”
How can dynamic sophrology help you (re)start sport?
You may recognize friends or yourself: sometimes, it's hard to dare to open the door of a gym. Whether you are not athletic or are returning to sport after a prolonged break, what is mundane for some can be a source of anxiety for others.
Sophrology will seek to understand the “blockage” and resolve it . Examples of exercises? “ Breathe normally, then gradually speed up your breathing. You then feel energy flowing through your body as your heart rate increases. » Other exercises aim to bring awareness to every part of the body – from head to toe. The person is required to contract them, then release them, while concentrating on their sensations.
It’s a virtuous circle: getting moving, developing self-awareness leads to better harmony .
What happens during a session ?
A session lasts one hour. In general, we follow one every 15 days or every month, for as long as desired.
During the very first session, the goal is to fully understand your expectations in order to define the method that suits you. Then, it's time for exercises!
And in between, you reconnect with the joy of homework.
Rest assured, nothing restrictive, simple exercises must be reproduced to prolong well-being.
The sophrologist sometimes redirects people towards doctors to meet the expressed need.
“We don't talk about healing in sophrology, we learn to manage what can be managed. It’s not a medicine, it’s a wellness technique.”
Where and how to follow dynamic sophrology sessions?
You can find phone apps, internet videos, or DVDs. Of course, you will benefit from more tailored advice by meeting a professional sophrology.
We advise you to choose a person recognized by the state , registered with the RNCP: national register of professional certification.
One last piece of advice from Noémie: “ The first contact is important. Do you feel it right? Are you confident? Otherwise, don't hesitate to look elsewhere :)."
Bonus: a dynamic relaxation exercise
And because many of us are affected by stress, we're sharing an exercise with you:)
Take a few minutes just for you:
In a standing position, feet slightly apart, inhale and imagine that you are carrying a suitcase in each hand . Put your problems, all your current concerns, in these suitcases. Can you visualize the scene? GOOD. Raise your shoulders and feel the weight of those suitcases, then exhale, releasing your shoulders and worries. Let it all go! It's better? Repeat as often as you feel the need.
